Use PRE-EMERGENCE HERBICIDE /IT IS PRESENTLY APPROVED FOR USE ON TURF, ORNAMENTALS, STRAWBERRIES, CERTAIN VEGETABLE TRANSPLANTS AND SEEDED VEGETABLES, AND AGRONOMIC CROPS INCLUDING COTTON, SOYBEANS, AND FIELD BEANS. IT IS EFFECTIVE AGAINST SMOOTH & HAIRY CRABGRASS, WITCHGRASS, GREEN & YELLOW FOXTAILS, FALL PANICUM & OTHER ANNUAL GRASSES. IT IS ALSO USEFUL AGAINST CERTAIN BROAD-LEAVED WEEDS SUCH AS CARPET WEED PURSLANE & COMMON CHICKWEED. IT IS TOLERATED BY MANY CROP PLANTS. /IT IS EFFECTIVE AGAINST SMOOTH & HAIRY CRABGRASS, WITCHGRASS, GREEN & YELLOW FOXTAILS, FALL PANICUM & OTHER ANNUAL GRASSES. IT IS ALSO USEFUL AGAINST CERTAIN BROAD-LEAVED WEEDS SUCH AS CARPET WEED PURSLANE & COMMON CHICKWEED. IT IS TOLERATED BY MANY CROP PLANTS. GENERALLY AT PLANTING TIME, PREEMERGENT TO WEEDS; APPLIED WITH CONVENTIONAL SPRAYER. RATES: 4 TO 10 LB/ACRE DEPENDING ON SOIL TYPE & WEED POPULATION. USUAL CARRIER: APPLY IN SPRAY RIGS DELIVERING 25 TO 40 GAL OF WATER PER ACRE. IT IS EXTRAORDINARILY TOXIC TO DODDER AND HAS, THEREFORE, BEEN USED FOR DODDER CONTROL IN SEED ALFALFA.
Apparent Color CRYSTALS FROM METHANOL ; COLORLESS CRYSTALS
Odor ESSENTIALLY ODORLESS
Melting Point 155-156 DEG C
Molecular Weight 331.99
Environmental Fate IT IS HYDROLYZED IN SOILS WITH A HALF-LIFE OF ABOUT 100 DAYS IN MOST SOILS. AFTER APPLICATION OF DACTHAL TO SOIL, MONOMETHYL AND FREE DICARBOXYL ANALOGS WERE TENTATIVELY IDENTIFIED BY GAS CHROMATOGRAPHY. ADSORBED BY ORGANIC MATTER IN SOIL; DOES NOT LEACH IN ANY OF THE SOIL TYPES. CHEMICAL HYDROLYSIS IS A PRIMARY FACTOR IN DISAPPEARANCE OF DCPA FROM SOIL.
