Use HERBICIDE. USED FOR PREEMERGENCE CONTROL OF ANNUAL WEED GRASSES, SUCH AS CRABGRASS, FOXTAIL, AND BARNYARDGRASS, IN NEWLY SEEDED OR ESTABLISHED PLANTINGS OF BLUEGRASS, FESCUE, REDTOP, SMOOTH BROME, PERENNIAL RYEGRASS, ORCHARD GRASS. SELECTIVE HERBICIDE USED PREEMERGENCE AGAINST DIGITARIA SPECIES BUT TOLERATED BY CEREALS, TURF SPECIES & MANY BROAD-LEAVED CROP PLANTS. Selectively controls certain germinating annual weed grasses in newly seeded or established plantings of zoysia, and the following strains of bentgrass: PennCross, Seaside, Highland, Astoria, Nimisila, C-1, C-7 and C-19. Should not be used on other bentgrass strains nor on bermudagrass.
Apparent Color WHITE CRYSTALS; COLORLESS CRYSTALS
Odor ODORLESS
Melting Point 133-138 DEG C
Molecular Weight 232.36
Density 1.08 at 25 deg C/25 deg C
Sensitivity Data MAY IRRITATE EYES, NOSE, THROAT, & SKIN.
Environmental Fate TERRESTRIAL FATE: IN STUDIES OVER 3 YR PERIOD IN A TEMPERATE CLIMATE UNDER AN ANNUAL RAINFALL OF ABOUT 45 INCHES, THERE HAS BEEN NO EVIDENCE OF RESIDUAL CHEMICAL IN THE SOIL AFTER 1 YR, EVEN WITH APPLICATIONS MUCH IN EXCESS OF THOSE REQUIRED FOR WEED CONTROL. 428] TERRESTRIAL FATE: ADSORPTION INCR AS CLAY CONTENT &/OR ORG MATTER CONTENT OF SOIL INCR; CLAYS OF HIGH EXCHANGE CAPACITY ADSORB MORE THAN THOSE OF LOW EXCHANGE CAPACITY. THE AMOUNT ADSORBED ON KEYPORT SILT LOAM IN EQUILIBRIUM WITH 1 PPM IN SOIL SOLN AT 22.5 C IS 2.5 PPM. SIDURON IS VERY RESISTANT TO LEACHING. MOVEMENT IS LEAST IN SOILS HIGH IN CLAY &/OR ORGANIC MATTER; GREATEST IN SAND.
