  • Apply the cream with added carrot oil on the body and face.
  • After a few days and weeks you will obtain a slightly tanned complexion and naturally tanned skin.

2. 100% natural self-tanning recipe

As carrot oil is really effective in giving a naturally tanned complexion, here is a recipe for self-tanning with carrot oil, egg yolk and natural yoghurt.

Here’s how to make this natural self-tanner: (it keeps 2 to 3 days in the fridge)

  • Mix in a bowl 3 tablespoons of plain yogurt, 6 tablespoons of carrot oil, 5 drops of carrot essential oil and 1 egg yolk.
  • Once thoroughly mixed, pour the solution into a spray-type bottle.
  • Apply the self-tanner to your body once a day for naturally tanned skin.

3. Make a black tea self-tanner

Another recipe for making your own homemade self-tanner is to use black tea!
Here’s how to prepare this other self-tanner:

  • Add 3 or 4 tablespoons of black tea to 1/2 liter of boiling water.
  • Let the black tea steep for 15 minutes and allow to cool.
  • Once cool pour into a spray bottle and spray on the body.
  • Use your hands to spread the self-tanner evenly over your legs and arms.
  • Leave to dry on the body and repeat the operation 3 or 4 more times for beautiful, naturally tanned legs.

Just like tea, coffee can also be a good ingredient choice for making your own self-tanning recipe at home.

Here’s how to prepare this other self-tanner:

  • Puree 2 very ripe apricots in a bowl.
  • Add 3 tablespoons of coffee to a filter and add the apricot puree.
  • Infuse for 10 to 15 minutes, strain the mixture and let cool.
  • Apply the coffee self-tanner to the skin and let it work.

You can also add very fine ground coffee to your day cream to give your skin a quick tan.

For a natural tan over time the carrot is undoubtedly your best solution. But for it to be effective you would have to eat a very large amount of carrots!

So why not just drink carrot juice every day?
If you don’t like the taste of carrot juice so much, you can add fruit to your juice such as pineapple, oranges or grapefruit.

The important thing is to have a minimum of 4 to 5 large carrots in your juice for it to be effective on your skin and your complexion.
