Link AKC, here is the smart collar that watches over man’s best friend

We already knew that connected objects are an integral part of our lives. The range of multiple objects of this type available on the market now includes a new one: the Link AKC, a smart necklace intended to be worn by man’s best friend.

Although dog collars incorporating advanced technology are already available, the Link AKC is intended to strengthen the bond between the dog and his master. Designed in conjunction with the American Kennel Club (AKC), the collar prides itself on having a multitude of functions.

The Link AKC incorporates a GPS allowing the owner of the animal to follow its location in real time. Also, the collar has an activity tracking system and is able to store data that the veterinarian can consult during a visit, such as body temperature as well as other information such as age, weight, or height.

In terms of design, the collar made of Latigo leather is rather classic. However, the interest lies elsewhere since a dedicated application which allows you to know where the animal is gives the possibility of defining a virtual security zone. The application will then warn the master through an alert, in case the dog leaves this predefined area.

Another fairly practical option is at the level of the rechargeable battery. This makes it possible to control various LEDs, again via the application, in order to find your animal in the dark after having located it. The application also allows you to share your dog’s adventures on social networks, a really optional option!

The sale price of the Link AKC necklace is around 200 dollars, while it is already possible to order it on the official website.
